Pop superstar and former Wham! member, George Michael, has died at the age of 53.
In a statement to the BBC the singer’s publicist says “It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period,” read the statement.
Michael earned two Grammy’s and eight nominations during his career.
According to the singer’s official Facebook page, he was working on a documentary called “Freedom,” the title of one of his beloved hit song, set to be released in March 2017.
His cause of death is said to be heart failure, according to CBS News.
