All of sudden a dog dies and that’s it… you’re on the floor crying.
Old Yeller, Marley & Me, I Am Legend…. grab the tissues!
There is a scientific reason why we cry during dog deaths more than humans in movies. It goes back to when we were kids. As kids, we formed very close bonds with our pets. Witnessing a dog death on the big screen can bring emotion when you lost your family pet. Also according to Dr. Meg Daley it’s because at younger ages most kids are familiar with pets deaths.
Dr. Daley also says seeing a dog die can raise blood pressure, heartbeat and stress hormones.
