Ahhhhh summer!! The season we all get to smell like Summer Perfume (AKA: Off! Bug spray). It seems like no matter how much bug spray you use, there is no running away from mosquitoes during a Manitoba summer.
Sometimes those mosquito bites feel like you need to scratch your skin like it’s going out of style. Luckily there is a few ‘hacks’ you can try this summer to try and make those bites feel better. It’s worth a try! Take a look:
#1 – Take a Benadryl
Technically you are dealing with an allergic reaction, so it can help itching. It may be an overkill if you only have a couple bites.
#2 – Put toothpaste on the bites
Toothpaste can help with the itching, it’s a good relief if you are out camping and can’t make it to the store to pick up Calamine lotion.
#3 – Apply Aloe
Aloe helps with itching, swelling and healing. Aloe from the actual plant will work the best.
#4 – Treat with salt water (or salt paste)
Pour a bit of water on the bite and rub some salt in. Sure, it will sting but will help with the itching.
Happy mosquito season!
